Crab Legs Gone Wild
Easy, extremely delicious! Great trick recipe for getting people hooked on seafood!
Ingredients:
- King Crab Legs (unfrozen) – 2 pounds – we also use snow crab
- Salted Butter – 1 cup
- Garlic, minced – 3 cloves
- Lemon Juice – 2-3 Tablespoons
- Traeger Cajun Rub – Moderately shaken over legs – I love using Garlic Sriracha seasoning
- Deep Cookie Sheet or Disposable Aluminum Pan
Pregame: 10 minutes work
Preparing the Legs:
- Throw the legs in the foil pan, snapping them where necessary to fit – Carefully slicing the legs open from the sides prior to grilling will help you later when breaking them apart, as well as let more juices into the meat
- Melt your butter in the microwave, then
- Add the garlic and lemon juice to the melted butter, whisk it together
- Brush or pour the mixture over the crab legs, completely covering
- Moderately shake your rub over the legs
Main Event: 25-30 minutes
- Start your Traeger on the smoke setting, once a fire is established, increase the temperature to 350 F
- Once preheated to 350F, add the foil pan to the grill
- 10 Minutes – Brush with butter mixture in pan
- 20 Minutes – Brush with butter mixture in pan – I often rotate them once in the pan to ensure every ounce gets as much buttery deliciousness as possible!
- 30 Minutes – Even thick King Crab legs are typically ready to destroy by now
- Plate the crab legs and serve each with a bowl of buttery sauce from the pan – If any snowflakes are present, be sure to pull the crab meat out of the shell before serving to avoid any meltdowns!
